"Who makes your products for you?"

This is a question we get asked frequently at the Saugerties Farmers Market where we have been a weekly vendor this market season. While some farmers and crafts vendors might take offense to the question, we are actually flattered!

To us it means that we are accomplishing the goal we established in 2020, back in our early days. And that is to make most, if not all, of our own products, to make them at the highest quality possible, and to package them simply, yet attractively. We decided that when we put our name and logo on a product, we want anyone buying it or receiving it as a gift to enjoy using it as much as we enjoy making it! And the fact that some shoppers think we are outsourcing production to professional manufacturers brings us even more satisfaction.

We started the process of developing our product catalog by researching what the possibilities are. As part of that process we to spoke to lavender farmers in other parts of the country to find out how they use their harvest and see what type of lavender products they offered. What we quickly learned is that with lavender the possibilities are almost endless, which left us feeling a bit overwhelmed...

In the end it was the advice given to us by one of the farmers we visited that set us on our current course. They told us to, "Start with a small number of products, and make them the best you can."

Those words stayed with us as we looked forward to the day when we could start making products from our harvest, and they still guide us today.

Our dried lavender bundles came first, of course. At this time, they are only available for local pick up, but we are investigating packaging to protect them during shipping in the hopes of offering dried bundles to our on-line buyers in the near future. Sachets naturally came next, and they have become one of our most popular items.

From there we slowly ventured into bath and body products with formulas we developed ourselves, using the highest quality ingredients we could source and combining them with pure lavender essential oil.

We launched with a small number of offerings in 2021 which were sold at a couple of pop-up sales at the farm and by word of mouth.  The response was amazing and we are grateful for the support of those early customers!

With our participation at local markets and the launch of our website with on-oline shopping this year, we carefully expanded our product line while still making sure that whatever we made, we made it the best we could.

In future posts we will take a closer look at our products one-by-one, and let you know about any new products we add. In the meantime, please visit the product page of our website where you will find brief descriptions and complete ingredient lists for the items we currently offer. If you have any questions or concerns you would like addressed before making a purchase, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. And if you have already purchased something from us, we would love to hear about your experience with it.
